En route to La Rochelle the other day, we saw an extremely fast and strange shaped boat in the distance.
We didn’t have time to target it on radar – it seemed to disappear as fast as it came.
What is it?
Whilst in Les Minimes yesterday, we found it. But what on earth is it?
Have I been watching too much Star Trek?

Hmmm yeah interesting, just looked it up and its essentially a continuance of ground effect whereby you use aerodynamics to help lift the weight out of the water reducing the drag through the water.
Yes looks very fast but no definite data that I could find although 40 knots from the twin 200hp outboards would make it quite quick!

Here’s your answer – looks interesting if a little impractical when it comes to taking a gentle stroll around the deck!

Very cool concept. The center hull has the configuration of an airplane wing, giving the structure a lift and reducing the displace area in the water. Here is a link to the companies website. http://www.aavessels.com/experimental-campaign/
Very interesting concept. Wonder what the interior looks like?
I think it looks rather alarming-probably to be avoided. Any sign of humans?
